Bonding can be used as a restorative procedure for teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored or misaligned.
The tooth is prepared for the procedure by applying a bonding liquid. Once the liquid sets, a plastic resin is applied and sculpted into the desired shape by the dentist. Custom shading of the resin allows Dr. Romano and Dr. Adams to create a restoration that seamlessly blends into your tooth. Once set, the resin is trimmed, smoothed and polished to a natural appearance.
The bonding procedure can often be completed in a single office visit, and can improve the appearance of a tooth significantly. The plastic resin used is similar in porosity to your natural tooth and may stain, chip or break with normal wear. Bonding typically lasts three to five years before replacement is needed.
As seen in the below examples, bonding can dramatically chenge your smile by bonding multiple teeth or just repair a chip on a single tooth.
